Actually from 1920 (or so) through 1945 those 2 phenomena (debt/printing, followed by war) unfolded in a neat cause-effect sequence. I'm kind of hoping we don't follow that particular path this time, but as my accountant told me yesterday "I think we're far past the tipping point". And he knew I knew what he meant.....
