OT. The problem with this article is that instead of analyzing good economic practices and suggesting to elect US candidate that supports them, it uses the "scary red China monster" card. "Vote XXXYYYYYYYZZZZZZZ or big bad China will get you!" is a stupid cry and diminishes the message of the author.

The growth of China is good for the world. The fact that a huge country is getting out of poverty into middle class lifes should be cheered at and not used as a bogyman. Whether that growth will be smooth, whether the Chinese political system will remain stable and supportive to their citizenry is still an open question. If Chinese economy is 3x the size of US in 2040, that's probably very positive for the world, since it means that the growth and situation remained stable.

USA has its own economic and political choices. They are complex enough even without drawing unnecessary China monster card. Hopefully US will successfully navigate the issues and in 2040 will also be a prospering nation.
