I thought that the debute on the depletion of CD4+ in AIDS is (a) on CTLs' effectiveness in eliminating infected cells; (2) HIV initiates intrinsic apoptosis. The problem is not that the infected-CD4+ T-cells not been killed, but they are been killed too fast/efficiently, so the body can not defend against opp. infections. Maybe I am wrong on this, but I still could not figure this thing out. Well just keep learning.
TS for cancer is an old story, & everybody is doing it or some compounds might in clinical (might find them in BM/Zeneca threads). It won't be much better than conventional chemo. If it is in p3, well, better than nothing, a couple hundred mil a year to top.
MMP inhibitors are pretty hot in the last couple of years for metastsis, no treatment & so no comparision, this might get a fast track. But this is a horse race, AGPH might has a good feel on it because they can convert their expertise on HIV to this one.
