Hi Little Joe--When I last spoke to Mr Ford of Syntroleum Investor Relations in September he told me Syntroleum's plan was to license the technology and let the oil entites use their resources in building the plants. Save but a for a few small specialty chemical plants, Syntroleums plans are for licensing only.
But the big difference between Syntroleum and RNTK that I can see is that Syntroleum already has the licensing agreements from some huge oil companies. I don't know about RNTK.
Also, The Syntroleum process uses regular oxygen instead of Exxon's pure oxygen, which would be a great advantage for those remote areas of the world where a smaller, mobile plant could be utilized. Remote areas with smaller Methane gas fields are supposedly where Syntroleum type plants will thrive.
An interesting article can be found at this site:
che.com
It refers to Sasol, Ltd., the South African company you mentioned and Exxon.
Exxon's GTL plants are supposed to be for huge natural gas fields. The plants are to be stationary and pump out huge volumes. They also require pure oxygen.
Syntroleum plants will be smaller, mobile ones.
What makes RNTK different and what will their niche be? Are they a "me too" company or do they really have something?
Maybe we're talking apples and oranges here.
I still like SLH Corporation, although I wouldn't buy additional shares at the current price.
