Russia 157+

* Glorious Heroes

Yanks 279

This is what the aces shot down in actual fact. All else is ground
fire. It should be noted that the Russians only got credit for
wreckage that was found whereas Americans got credit for unconfirmed
kills that do not tally with Russian records. Americans also got
credit for unarmed transport aircraft, planes on the ground and
barrage balloons.

So it was not 792 to 71 in the American's favour. Add in what native
North Koreans shot down and Ground fire (heavy US losses) and it tips
in the North's favour.

Now you know the real reason for the DMZ in Korea. the yanks did
not just get beat on the ground as MacArthur admitted, but also in
the air. They could not push them back so they mined the middle
(from the air) and quit.

It jibes with what ground soldiers told me about the battle too
as they said it was touch and go all the way. We had superior
artillery and armament but we just could not secure positions
with limited manpower. Or continue to take impregnable hills.

Next, Vietnam. Why the lost that one too. Fair and square. Not
politically as we were told. Our planes were being shot to
pieces by Soviet radar and we could not prosecute incursions
into the north.
