Happy days are here again.

At least in Europe.

Just kiddding.

The Greeks will now see their way clear to default: "Screw them, Spyro, the Euros are now backstopped with USD. Why should we worry?"

More seriously, I am mad at myself for not having seen this coming and at least traded a bit around it. The signs were there for anyone to see, i.e., the Chinese were clearly invited (multiple rumors abounded) but refused at the end of the day, telling everyone to put their own house in order, Geithner in Europe, attending a G7 meeting for the first time, multiple fire alarms ringing at the same time.....bailout was the obvious remedy, and no Euro entity had the fire power to do what needed to be done.

Temporarily bad for gold, I guess. A good time to manipulate it.

My first impression, anyway.
