It is just like you to leave out the important facts about this case.
The main reason why Corel did not get the deal was because they did
not have enough time with the Wordperfect product line since they
had just bought it from Novell. Yet, this is old news. I believe that
it was reported that Corel's suite outshipped Microsoft's in June and
July. Impressive even given that it was a brand new product. Futhermore, Corel is planning a new licensing scheme that will totally
undercut Microsoft's profitability on their suites. In fact, Microsoft
is wondering how Corel will make any money on this new deal.
