I like Cooperman’s views on the market not so much his picks he pointed out. On Japan there people and companies own all the debt and IMO when they finally come to the conclusion that stocks are better values they will be pouring money into equities. The government in Japan has I believe the largest % of debt to GDP in the world and that is only because there people choose to earn nada, nobody else owns Japans debt. I have no idea how it is going to play out but it is hard to see stocks going much lower and bonds can’t go much lower. I don’t see Japan falling off the map especially with the companies and there citizens over there so asset rich. Then it does not hurt being neighbors to some of the fastest growing economies in the world. Everybody also talks about Japan having an old population with the avg age being like 44 but is that really old in Japan they live forever it is probably the equivalent to 30 in America. Did you see MBC.TO it has been on a tear the last few weeks I got some around 2.10 and it is around 3 in a few weeks and it was as high as 3.40 yesterday. Happy to point out a winner has been a while since I got one like that, been stepping on a lot of mines. The market rally last week brought me back to almost even. I never thought I would feel so happy because I am almost even for the year but it feels good. Now I have my eyes on passing FPPTX .56%and YAFFX 3.79% which are both up slightly for the year. I have 5 benchmarks I like to compare my self to and as of right now I am in 3rd place I am beating FAIRX and the s&p, but I have my eyes on the leaders.
