********** OFF TOPIC *********
Hi TT,
Just finished reading your posts of the last 10 days. Unfortunately, wasn't keeping track with SI and couldn't offer my support re last weekend flaming on time.
In one post you say you have no extraordinary talent, but employ other's talents to acheive your goals. 1. IMO that's a remarkable skill. 2. It may be interpreted as exploiting others.
Back in July or August, when I was making some bold predictions on the Kahuna thread, you questioned me for my reasoning and what would make me change my mind. I felt offended by your question. I try to figure why, because looking back at it there is nothing offensive about it. The exchange you had with Iqbal and others on the Idea thread made me think about it. While I can offer no reasons for other's response, it seems to me that the kind of straightforward questioning of one's convictions is intimidating, especialy when one's covictions are shaken by the market's actions.
Being a lousy trader (ego and emotions and such), I admire your other skill of keeping emotions out of the trade. But others cannot do that. Myself and Iqbal both being market strategists, it looks like strategists are the ones most prone to that kind of obstacles. I think that the reason I took offence by your questions was that the responses I was looking for were ones that contiribute rather then question. It kinda caught me off guard. I would rather debate others' viewpoints (and change my own if appropriate) against my own then being questioned about my views without being shared the views of the questioning person. Logicaly, there's no difference, but, as I said, there are also emotions at play here.
In conclusion
1. I wish I was as good a trader as you are. I also wish I had the strong character you have shown. It sure could help me better my trading. 2. I have your posts bookmarked, as i have much to learn from you. 3. Go easy on the emotional strategists, they look for an exchange of ideas rather then being scrutinized.
