I agree, more or less. But, and it's a big but, markets over-react on the upside and the downside. The value of the patents and cash on hand make the present valuation more than fair. The excitement that will be created if they say "design freeze" -- i.e., we've got it -- will most likely cause a substantial pop. If you are a more conservative player, who is willing to pay up, it makes sense to wait. But, you might have to buy in at 9-12, assuming there isn't a pre-announcment run-up. But I don't think it will be too late to buy at that point: just hard, psychologically, for many people. OTOH, you avoid the wait and the danger that something will go amiss and the product just won't come to fruition.
