I don't begrudge that, either. But I also think that it's offensive to the people in the world who suffer real poverty to call the people we are talking about impoverished.

They are lower middle class. They don't have access to the goods and services available to the middle middle class, nor the upper middle class, nor the upper class, but they are NOT impoverished. That's simply not true. It's politics, not economics.
