TM - has a bit of news out . What caught my eye was the 3 grams per ton gold from the first trench . The company was not looking for gold when they picked up the property . It will be interesting to see what the new samples will assay at . Be awhile before they drill, but they are planning on drilling once the assays are in .

VANCOUVER, Sept. 20, 2011 /CNW/ - Tumi Resources Limited (the "Company") (TSXV-TM; Pinksheets - TUMIF; Frankfurt - TUY). Mr. David Henstridge, President, announces that detailed channel sampling at La Gloria gold-tungsten-tin project has been completed. La Gloria is located about 250 km by road east of Hermosillo, Sonora and is held within two contiguous mineral claims totalling 200 hectares optioned from a private Mexican owner.
A report from 1959 states that La Gloria was discovered around 1955 by a group of Mexican prospectors. During a 3-week period in 1956 they reportedly produced 120 tons of 65% WO3 (tungsten oxide) using very crude mining and concentrating methods. As part of a due diligence process prior to optioning, the Company collected a total of 117 samples from the skarn host rock, a nearby intrusive and from younger volcanics.
At the main workings, near the north end of the documented skarn body, a contiguous set of 16 channel samples (32 m), taken perpendicular to the trend of the zone, averaged 3.3 g/t gold, 958 ppm (0.1%) tungsten and 498 ppm (0.05%) tin. This sequence of samples is located on Grid Line 100. Mapping has revealed that the main zone has an apparent strike length of about 600 m NE-SW and a lateral, horizontal exposure of up to 300 m NW-SE. How much of this is contiguous stratigraphy is not known; much of this lateral exposure is along the dip slope, and a true thickness has not yet been established.
A total of 120 channel samples ranging in length from 0.45 m to 3 m and 2 chip samples have been taken from the main mineralized zone. The four lines sampled were 50 m and 100 m both NE and SW of Grid Line 100 and are approximately perpendicular to the trend of the mineralization. The length of the lines sampled ranged from 44 m to 155 m: however, sections of the lines could not be sampled due to overburden.
As well as the grid sampling program, Company personnel have taken a further 88 channel samples from outside of the main mineralized zone to test for extensions of the mineralization on the property. These channel samples range in length from 0.7 m to 2.9 m in length. All 210 samples have been submitted for assay.
Mr. Henstridge stated: "This initial channel sampling program is the first detailed exploration work at La Gloria and we are confident that the 210 sample results along with previously acquired data will allow us to locate the most prospective areas for an initial drill program scheduled for later this year".
The qualified person for Tumi's projects, David Henstridge, a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy
and a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has visited the La Gloria gold-tungsten-tin project, Sonora, Mexico, and has verified the contents of this news release. |
