Hello Salah,

Q: How long has Exchange been around ?
A: Less than one year

Q: Which company first publicised its acceptance ?
A: Boeing

Q: Who else followed ?
A: GM, EDS, Smith Barney (and us) to name a few

Q: What are we waiting for and why have we not implemented today ?
A: Stabality.

Q: Will we wait for the next release or consider Notes/Groupwise ?
A: We will wait (Notes useful in our environment strictly for groupware)

Q: Do we represent the trend or follow the trend?
A: Yes

Q: How do I view Groupwise ?
A: I have attended demonstrations and personally think it is a great
product. It had features that were beyond anything I had ever seen in any other e-mail package.

Q: Why did'nt we consider purchasing it ?
A: We were running MS MAIL 3.x and (not my view but of those in this company).....anything having the word
Novell written on it was a joke. Users are unhappy with the way NOVL treated them in the 80's/90's with monopolistic pricing structure
on NW 3.x. and continuous patch fixes.

Q: Would you buy Groupwise if you had NW 3.x servers and few NW 4.x servers ?
A: Probably not.

Q: Is NT hot ?
A: You bet it is...as an applications server.

Q: What is the most popular application in use today ?
A: E-mail

Q: If you are buying NT as an applications server, why not install
e-mail on it ?
A: ?????

Q: What should NOVL do regarding marketing Groupwise ?
A: They should port it to NT. Then MSFT will have some real competition.

Q: What else should NOVL do ?
A: Port their internet/intranet software, Managewise, NDS to NT.

NT is here to stay. Like MSFT designed their original software to run on NW 3.x, NOVL should design their software to run on NT. But first, they had better have it run on NW 3.x. Novell in other words has to make their software "open" to the the new paltform. Writing strictly NW 4.x NLM's isn't going to generate much growth for them.
