I expect that the CareBot will be adopted rapidly. GeckoSystems will have "first mover" advantage in the market. The company has been ahead of the technology curve, working on sensor fusion technology and software. Hardware has been upgraded as available.

The final in home testing phase is what marks the "ready to market" phase.

In the last few years the changes in sensor hardware have changed radically. A $20-$30,000 robot a few years ago is now cheaper than a compact car. How many families by a car for their fledgling children? Those same families will buy a personal care assistant for their elderly loved ones.

The big difference is that a car continues to cost money (ever had to buy insurance for a male under 25?) but the CareBot will pay for itself in a matter of months when it is used as an alternative to a nursing home or in home care.

Because it monitors its subject closely medical crises can be averted. A fall will get prompt attention, loss of consciousness will get detected, incoherent responses from the elder will be noticed. Family members will be alerted.

If just one hospital stay is avoided the CareBot will yield an investment return of 100-500% or more. These are figures that will translate to sales in the short term and acceptance by the insurance industry, probably within a few years.
