Why would you want an article thats one year old? One year in technology news is probably equal to about 7 dog years and 3 human years....Why not read some current news?

Brute Excuse me, I jusy can't figure you out. Why own a stock that you abviously don't like? If I no longer like the outlook of a stock I own, Do you know what I do? I SELL IT, and move on. It ludicrous to own something and complain about it everday. This leave me with only two possible conclusions. !) That you are short(Porsche and others opinions) 2 That you are neither long or short
but post to draw attention to yourself( I believe this to be the case) and get off on this attention. I personally sold six stocks last Friday, because I was dissappointed in them, and I don't go to their thread and post how bad they were, I MOVED ON. Sorry to all of you for this post. Don't get me wrong, I think we need to question IDX management. but this is silly. Marvin

New report...

lehman.com

...estimates remain the same...

...INS to spend additional $22-24 mil, after clinton signs bill...

..."Identix' announced order 43 Identix Touchprint TP-600 machines represents nearly all of our expected revenues from the INS, so any additional orders could be additive to our estimate of $0.24 in this fiscal year."...additional orders therefore should cause Lehman to UP estimates...

Salomon states that Identix is working with both MICROSOFT and NETSCAPE and plans to make Identix solutions the defacto standard for computer security......this is on First Call today......Read it and weep NAYSAYERS. Salomon has put the word out!

Great news, I THINK,,,,,,,saw the news when it hit noon EDT and immediately thought the stock would bounce at least 1 to 2 points, but.............

Hmmmm, perhaps it will hit the papers tomorrow and we will get the move then? I know one thing if Solomon Brothers cant move this stock................

Some of u need to relax when people question this stock, damn it ....this is America I have a right to disagree......when we all think alike then we have a problem.......

I'm still cautious on IDX and that's the bottom line. Solomon Brothers makes a strong buy recommendation on a small stock like this and is supposed to take off and FLY, what happened here today leaves me puzzled to be honest. I nearly bought the stock when I saw the news, but when it
did not move up I said wait a minute, something is wrong here...My caution may cost me but I trust my instincts. I believe there is more to come here......

IDX seems to work on the delayed reaction principle. I have certainly noticed in the past that good news takes a day or to to sink and then the buying starts.

In addition to my Solly note excerpts already brought over from SI I would like to add the following -

"We believe the diversity of Identix's business lines, customers and sales geography are unmatched including live-scan and Bio-ID fingerprint products, services and software as well as access to technology and R&D through ANADAC consulting services business."

"We believe the company's competitive position is characterized by industry leadership across five essential elements: (1) proprietary fingerprint aquisition hardware; (2) proprietary fingerprint analysis software; (3) fingerprint operating systems software; (4) fingerprint application software suites; and high-quality reputation. We believe that most of the competition does not have the breadth of products and services provided by Identix making
direct comparisons uneven."

"As acquisition devices become commoditized and inexpensive, the company intends to make its fingerprint software operating system the de-facto industry standard by working with the largest software vendors including Microsoft and Netscape."

Earnings estimates do NOT include Sylvan, remainder of INS contract, any Oracle revenues, Japan or UK contarct.

Possible negatives -
Expect new competition including Veridicom, Harris Semiconductor and Thompson-CSF which may compete directly with Identix. Rapidly changing technology could reduce the benefits of Identix's proprietary algorithms. Thinks Ascom's 21% ownership could create a potential overhang.

Good thing you talked yourself into selling those IDX shares the other day. I'll bet you are feeling pretty stupid right now. Oh yea, I almost forgot. You are missing one of the items required for higher vertebrates to possess a conscience and feel regret. A SPINE!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself just this once. I guess I felt I was entitled after posting all the Salomon Bros. note excerpts. I wish I could say that it won't happen again, but I believe there is potentially a lot of great news between now and Christmas (INS especially) and we know that Brutus/Rudy/MBenz can't keep their mouths shut in the interim. Although Rudy has been kind of quiet since Dawala dressed him out.
