another roth strategy: i've been holding mainly pref stock in my IRAs, but instead of (or in addition to) a roth conversion, i think i may sell some roth IRA pref stocks (that have held up in value), and buy droopy stocks that will undoubtedly double over the next year. and do the reverse in my taxable account, which will provide a tax loss.
