>>Need to: Lower wages, lower taxes, lower protection for workers and environment and lower social safety net.
And live like Mumbai or Beijing? Or worse, little towns outside Mumbai or Beijing?
Not worth it.
Right now, poor people in America have bathrooms with doors, running water, flush toilets, houses with windows, floors with carpets, and air conditioning, kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, laundry rooms with washing machines and dryers, living rooms with flat panel TV and game systems, they have high speed internet, personal computers, and at least one car. They have free education through 12th grade, free health care. And that's what it means to be impoverished in the US.
All of us have safe workplaces and clean environment.
