Joe, In late 2009 I attended a SIU- Edwardsville, Il Conference for political, public sector and private sector leaders. I was seated across the table from the Bellville School District Superintendent. We were discussing education cuts. He informed me that in the Spring of 2010 that if the district did not receive Stimulus money that the district was going to be required to cut approximately 150 teacher due to inadequate funding from the State and Federal governments. Here in the State, and Capitol we have a balance budget amendment which has required numerous cuts into the thousands in addition to cuts of public and school district employees. Since the State General Revenue only amounts to 1/3 of the State budget, with the remaining revenue coming from the Federal and designation funds, we have been told that additional cuts would have had to been made.

If the Federal Deficit Super Committee of twelve and Congress, the Fed's and consequently the States, Counties and Local School Districts the State will have to make additional cuts to balance the revenue vs expenses flowing through the State coffers. Possibly social security, medicare, medicaid, corrections, social services and the military will probably see additional cuts beyond what is already been cut in revenue. Since Missouri has numerous military key military bases, aircraft industries as Boeing, and ammunition plants our military will be severely hurt along with suppliers in the private sector.

I am sure the same is true of other States.
