If I recall, there was a significant CME that preceded the Japan earthquake by a day or two. Looks like one is going to hit earth tomorrow...just as Elenin (what's left of it) is passing between the sun and earth.

I don't know what to think of the comet alignment "theory", but I do believe that CME's can trigger earthquakes by disrupting the magnetic field. The timing is amazing. Sunspot 1302 (largest in about 7 years?) is massive and is going to be pointing directly at us in a few days like a loaded weapon.
