This has gotten a little silly. It started when you were putting Ron Paul down, pointing to his naming his son Rand after Ayn Rand as being self evident proof of something or another. Turns out that wasn't so.

Then you simplify and mis-characterize the philosophy Ayn Rand espoused, asserting that someone who doesn't bathe and sleeps with pigs couldn't have an interesting idea (a questionable assertion, and one you make no effort to defend). And then you express surprise that so many people actually find something useful in her ideas, while only having a foggy notion of what those ideas might be.

Someone here, a while back, pointed to a book about her actual ideas, not if she wore underwear or had bad breath. Your quick summaries and put downs lead me to believe you know very little about her ideas.

And I'm not even defending those ideas particularly, only pointing out that your put downs rise, at best, to the level of "your Momma wears combat boots", an approach guaranteed to get supporting snickers from third graders but not much else.

The concept of selfishness as expressed in human nature (or even nature in general) is much larger than the limited way you think of it, from what I can tell.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
