3rd quarter ends today , all sorts of weird crap can happen , GDP numbers due today too ? The only thing I am making money on is the banks , the PM stocks have done nothing but eat away at my portfolio .
We have been investing in the PM sector for years . As an investing group the general consensus has been that this sector will move once the rest of the general public sees the error of their ways and starts buying in to commodities and related companies . Instead they have walked away in droves . What should be an orgy of exuberance and a flight to safety has turned into a rout .
Buffett has stated that there is no value in gold , how he and the rest of the world can see value in the American dollar defies reason .
Those of us who are in this sector have been shouting for years . " stay away from the cool aid , it is poison , it will kill you " but the masses keep going back , and like rats have become immune to warforan the mass's keep returning to the cool aid . " The cool aid has not poisoned me yet " The printing presses continue to churn , the cool aid continues to pour and despite everything the masses refuse to see the one thing afloat in what is now an ocean of cool aid . Instead of climbing on board the bastards have been poking holes in the raft .
We have not sunk yet , but damn , this raft is getting lonely .
Me ? I remain defiant , I will remain in the raft with those few of my comrades left , I will piss in the cool aid and shake my head in wonder . The American dollar is the crack of the monetary world . Waiting for the addicts to quit and switch to something with meat in it sure is a test in patience .
