Jim, it's the pressure of playing in Boston or New York. Adrian wasn't held accountable by the press and the fans in San Diego. He is in Boston. The constant 24 hour talk shows analyzing your every move wears you down as a player. You have to find a way to separate yourself from society if you wish to play there, unless you are a media hog.

Hell, players for both NY and Boston have publicly stated that the rivalry, and what is expected of them during those games, simply wears them out mentally and emotionally. I can see that!
