When I see Perry - I see Bush. I don't buy a notion that person can be smart but could not put together a coherent sentence.

Presidential debates aren't ordinary talking. They are trying to put together pithy, effective parries and attacks under extreme pressure, while remembering 17 contradictory pieces of advice from your handlers, in the knowledge that one wrong word can sink you. It's a very peculiar kind of ballgame.

That's why you heard of Bush, and hear of Perry, that's he's wonderfully articulate in smaller groups. Perry can even give a good speech. But we'll have to wait and see if he can learn to debate on the Presidential level.
