There are people who actually feel that they can affect the price through use of these boards, and in fact it has been shown that it can, as demontrated by recent corporate cases against participants on boards, (i.e., resulting in loss of value due to repeated use of false and misleading info). Hell, there are some class action cases right now that claim that particular employee's drove there company stock prices by systematic use of these boards. Don't underestimate the their power.
