"Do you think the 25% iPad production cut was enough?"

Let's assume for a minute that Apple really did cut their Christmas quarter orders by 25%. Is it necessarily a cause for alarm? Apple is treading on uncharted territory with the tablet market. No one knows if the market is a 40 million unit market or a 100 million unit market, right? Obviously, Apple would have made some tentative orders for the December quarter, but those would be based on guess work as to demand. The current quarter is the first time Apple has managed to get ahead of the demand for iPad2. Now that sales are no longer supply constrained, they have a more accurate yardstick with which to project Christmas sales, and yes, let's stipulate that they adjusted their projections downward. But from what basis? 25 million? 20 million? I have to imagine they are still going to sell a helluva lot of iPads over christmas, way more than last year. And also, way more than Amazon. I'll worry if I see iPad sales flatline, but not when it's growing over 100% YoY.
