I think that is the real thesis. Three things causing it:

1) over population

2) resources cannot meet population needs

3) unfair distribution of resources e.g. we having 4% of worlds population consuming 25% of worlds goods and services; and internally the bottom 50% of people have only 2.5% of our wealth.

What always drives me nuts is that no one explains to the people that everyone on earth cannot be a millionaire or billionaire. Not enough resources or places to put garbage. So if that is true, it means we must reorganize our social structure to recognize that fact. Few even think of it.

The new recession
by Barath Raghavan
We're at the end of growth. Growth of the economy, of consumption, of wealth. That this would happen isn't news to those who've followed the writings of Meadows, Heinberg, and many others. What's different now is that it may have actually arrived. I'd like to briefly look at our current situation in this context and synthesize the various ideas we explored in previous posts.
