That's the issue - forced to cover, but it's essentially wrong to force people to have coverage. This is the central hypocrisy of our age.

i don't think they should be forced to purchase coverage ...but they should be forced to pay if they use the services....if they want to assume the risk so be it....but if they end up with a $10K emergency room 'visit' make them pay the bill...

hospitals write off the bad debts because they can cost shift by their ridiculous charges, but i see no other choice for them, because as you said, forcing them to provide services, even to illegals.... is an unfunded mandate
