Al, I know you can't say much about the A. Knox case itself but is it unusual for the Italian courts to reverse themselves like this in a criminal case? And does it mean that she was really innocent initially but they screwed up? Just curious about your perspective.

This case feels to me a little like the case of the Duke students who were accused of raping the exotic dancers they hired for their party...remember the prosecutor that was running for office in Durham with a large ethnic community as a voting constituency...don't know if you remember the case...it also must be said that Knox hurt herself during the early days of the case by behaving in very strange and careless ways ...here a female room mate of hers had been brutally killed and she was laughing and acting inappropriately in public...the media reports that followed were not exactly kind and public opinion turned squarely against her as a result, which may have motivated the prosecutor ala the Duke case...

In the end however I really don't have any better sense than been reported in the media...

Al
