one other thing. IMO, it is no coincidence that Obama waited until the economy was in total disarray before changing the "don't ask don't tell" policy in the military. Many many soldiers would have left military service because of this policy... but as it is, there are no jobs for them and they have no choice but to put up with the current mess.
