Germany is most definitely the least socialist of the European nanny states. They have an incredible industrial base and have been darned good at making products the world wants. They are a great example of how capitalism works. Yes, they have more far reaching socialist programs than we do, but they have managed to keep that in check and balance that out with a thriving private sector. Greece is the other end of the spectrum.

I wouldn't mind the US keeping a healthy balance like Germany. But I sure as well would mind us becoming more like Greece. I fear we've already become more like Greece than Germany. Our spending and our debt has become unsustainable.
