That's true, although with Jobs and Gates they essentially created something new, whereas with Walmart they sell stuff that lots of places sell. I'm not detracting from Walmart's phenomenal growth, just saying it's different from the computer revolution.

Walmart was extremely innovative with their use of IT to closely manage their stores, and their policies which don't treat service employees as fungible, but train them and value them so people want to work at Walmart. And they learned how to squeeze their vendors so they got everything cheaper. The Walmart store is as much a new invention as an iphone -- one which destroyed downtown stores, but on the bright side gives the customer enormous bargains for their dollar.
