If you have something to offer in defense of your hero odumbo, then kindly post it so we can discuss it meaningfully, I welcome an opposing view
Please afford me the opportunity to correct some misapprehensions.
1. President Obama is not my hero. I did not vote for him in the last election, nor will I (under any circumstances) vote for him in the next election.
2. That said, I will always show him the respect his office deserves. I will always refer to him as The President, President Obama, or even Obama in an informal setting. I will never refer to him by the disrespectful and racist names that I see here and elsewhere. I will never LIE about him and/or denigrate him, his wife, his children, his mother and his father.
3. I am a registered Republican and voted for the Senator McCain / Governor Palin ticket in the last election. They were not my heroes either. My choice was based solely on a "least/harm" scenario. In the fullness of time that three years has accorded, I have changed my view and my current thinking is that President Obama was indeed the "least harm" candidate. Let me reiterate - President Obama is not my hero, but I think we would likely be in far worse shape had the ticket I voted for prevailed in the election.
4. I carry no brief, nor offer any defense for President Obama. I can offer not a single higgs boson particle of evidence that would demonstrate, much less conclude that our country is better (in any way) in the past 3 years.
5. So, who will I vote for in the next election? As stated previously, it will not be president Obama. None of the Republican candidates impress me at this point, however I am trying to keep an open mind. I intend to never again vote for a "least/harm" ticket, so perhaps I will need to sit this next election out and not vote. If so, this will be the first time in my life that I will not be voting.
6. As bad as the performance of our Executive Branch of government is, the Legislative Branch is far worse, and I think the poll numbers point that out quite handily.
7. The Executive and Legislative governance of the Nation, the States and thousands of Cities and Municipalities have clearly lost their way. Irreparable damage has been done. There is no way to turn the ships of states around.
8. Our beloved country is in deep, deep soup. I am certain that the Fall of the Roman Empire will pale in comparison to what is in store for us in the upcoming months, years and decades. Eventually (possibly sooner rather than later), I expect that we will be under the control of another super-power, with China being the most likely candidate.
9. With what I see in our future, there is no purpose in further dividing our country (and encouraging the aspirations of terrorists) by espousing and promoting Hatred, Racism, Religious Intolerance, Bigotry, etc. Words DO have consequences. It has been proven that these behaviours have deleterious effects on ones physical and mental well-being. In particular, they elevate blood pressure, increase the likelihood of strokes and/or heart attacks, etc. Active participants in Hatred, Racism, Religious Intolerance, Bigotry, etc. generally hasten their mortality by shaving 5-to-10 years off of their life expectancy.
10. Lastly, I note that there are now more that 57,900 posts on this board. Can you name any improvements or accomplishments in our nations governance that have resulted directly from the discussions on this board?
Cheers,
