Go back to 1998 and I think it was Pete (from Stamford in those days) who asked me a similar question when I pointed out how Bob Brinker's repeated buy the dips while fully invested in the 1990s was marketing stuff to sell newsletters... and his ACTUAL model portfolios under performed the S&P500 buy and hold in those days. At the time, I was writing online at various investing sites for free while building a reputation. I took his critical comments "try doing it yourself" or something like that. I started my newsletter portfolio and it is up about 4.6X over the same period the S&P500 only gained 45%... better than 10 times the return. My local paper wrote a story about this success. investorhives.com If you want any more info, you'll have to change the title of this group or go to my website and follow instructions on how to get my recommendations. For now, I am sure people don't want to hear about me and would prefer to stick on the topic of Brinker. Of course, I expect a few more personal attacks before we return to the topic of Brinker.
