Aeromechanical Services Ltd. : SatCom License Opens Gateway for Business Jets in China

FLYHT and its partner in China, SKYBLUE Technology Development Ltd. (“SKYBLUE”) are attending the 2011 Annual Convention of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in Las Vegas from October 10 to 12. The team is meeting with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and operators at the show to discuss regulations in China and Satellite Communications (SatCom) equipage of aircraft compliant in China.

During the show, SKYBLUE announced in a press release that an extension to the exclusive Iridium frequency bandwidth approval for aviation SatCom in China, owned by them and covering AFIRS equipment, has been extended for five additional years, to the end of 2017.

As stated in the press release, SKYBLUE is the exclusive distributor of AFIRS products in China as well as the exclusive reseller of AFIRS Iridium-based data and voice services to the aviation community in China. The delays in shipments to the China market have been largely due to the granting and term of the Iridium license and FLYHT anticipates that this announcement will allow for a more rapid adoption rate of AFIRS technologies in China.
