The way the game is played here, the popular vote can be nullified by effectively keeping an election fairly close in the Electoral College and then simply stealing the votes in 1 or 2 large states.

Al Gore had something over a half million vote majority in the 2000 election.

The Republicans, thru their appeal to single issue and /or ignorant voters, concentrated in small rural and southern states, were able to keep the EC tally close enough so that they only needed to invalidate the results from 2 large states, that were firmly in control of their party apparatus.

They stole the electoral votes from Florida and Ohio, thru well documented strategies and set the US on the course to the imminent destruction we now face.

By keeping the Electoral College, basically a relic of the Pony Express because there was no other form of communication then, where representatives had to physically congregate in Washington to cast votes, the country is being deprived of any serious form of democratic elections.

By the way.

Watch how Republican state administrations are even now seeking changes to disenfranchise millions of voters prior to the 2012 elections.

Then don't be surprised when we have an even dumber Texas asshole elected than the last Texas asshole.
