to the President being elected by less than a majority of the population. Happens up here as a rule.. 43% popular vote can be a seat (electoral vote) landslide... so typical to see 39-43 % of popular vote to the winner as we are also first past the post.. It is always interesting to here the lamenting with a less than popular vote majority down south :O) I still think our penchant for occasionally cleaning house.. (destroying a party) helps us out... no perfect system... man would need to be perfect for that :O)
