Now, y'know, there is something. I am thinking along the lines of getting a 1984 or later Westy (water, not air, cooled) and putting a 2.5 liter Subaru engine into it. I don't care for the high-tops like that van, but for the opening variety. I hear that those little puppys really get up and go with a 'Ru engine in them.
