drakes, why don't you start here:
"SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - (June 30, 1997) - DATA RACE (Nasdaq National Market: RACE) today announced a strategic partnership with Data General of Westboro, MA, which will offer the Be There!T Personal Multiplexer system throughout the U.S.
Kathrine Tims, DATA RACE vice-president of channel sales and marketing, confirmed that Data General will sell and provide pre-installation support and installation services for the unique Be There! personal multiplexer system. "We at DATA RACE are pleased that Data General has selected Be There! to fulfill the needs of their customer base with remote users," Ms. Tims said. "Data General customers rely on them to deliver the very best, most innovative technologies on the market."
As noted by Curt Fisher, DATA RACE vice president of sales and marketing, Data General and DATA RACE have enjoyed a long-standing relationship. "Our sales force will work closely with the Data General field sales offices to identify prospects for Be There!," Mr. Fisher said.
Data General, a leading world-wide supplier of advanced server and storage systems, provides its customers with total solutions for their information technology needs. Data General's Network Solutions looked to DATA RACE and the Be There! system to provide workers access to corporate resources while maintaining mobility and independence from their physical office.
"We look for strategic partnerships with companies that provide solutions for our clients' compelling business needs," Tim Redmond, director of Data General Network Solutions said. "Be There! is an excellent solution that, for companies with significant investments in their voice and data networks, can increase productivity and reduce overall costs with a relatively modest additional investment. Be There! is particularly attractive because companies can add users as business requirements dictate, giving our clients maximum flexibility in selecting their options. We envision Be There! fitting well with our customers who have a lot of mobile employees, like sales people, or with customers who may have multiple places of business tied into common voice and data networks, like doctors who maintain multiple offices."
Mr. Redmond added, "Internally here at Data General we have been using Be There! for several weeks. I can already see productivity improvements as my team travels with Be There! installed on their notebook computers. We plan to continue to implement this product throughout the department."
Mr. Fisher concluded, "This is the first of the strategic relationships the Company is attempting to establish. We are continuing to negotiate with other major potential strategic partners to co-market or resell the Be There! system."
Tim Redmond is presently in business for himself and the marketing contact for BT at Data General is Mike Maziack. Good luck. Please report on what YOU find. |
