Hey Skeeter, did you catch this news release? Sounds like there are quite a few people who disagree with you about gtw being on the bottom. Not only did they win the award for best service and support, but also the best place to buy a computer *and* the BEST VALUE desktop PC. The best value was found to be their $1349 system that includes the monitor. Sweet!

Gateway's tradition of providing best

Gateway 2000, Inc. (NYSE:GTW), a global leader in the direct

honors during Computer Shopper magazine's Best Buy Awards held
Tuesday evening in Las Vegas, Nevada. The awards are presented
annually and are voted on by Computer Shopper's readers.
Gateway captured awards in the following categories: Best Value
Desktop PC, Best Place to Buy a Desktop PC and Best Service and

GP-Series Professional PC. The GP5-166 for $1,349 includes a 166MHz

pipeline-burst cache, a 2GB hard drive, 12x/24x CD-ROM drive and a 3D
graphics accelerator with 2MB SGRAM. The system also comes with a
15" (13.9" viewable) EV500 monitor. At the higher-end of the
GP-Series is the $2,949 GP6-300. The system comes standard with a
mid-tower case, a 300MHz Pentium(R) II processor, 64MB of SDRAM, 512K
of L2 cache, a 8.4GB UATA hard drive, 4MB AGP graphics accelerator
and a 19" (18" viewable) EV900 monitor.
