He generally tries to keep the focus on Iran and not mix it up with American politics. However, he did mention that the timing was a little suspicious since they knew about this a month ago - and he reported on something similar months ago. There's always some plot going on somewhere. Plenty of them right here. There's a proxy war going on between the Saudis and Iran in several places. He also mentioned the increasing acrimony between the supreme leader and A-jad. Just one way for one side to poke the other.

There's also the conjecture that Iran is setting itself up to play a big part in America's election process - like they did back in the early 80s, if you remember. It remains a question as to what the point would be to cause O to lose the election. He's played right into their hands all along and can be easily manipulated.
