That piece is hilarious..The Teapers voted for a slew of new Congressmen whose daily mission is to enable exactly the expansionist technological society that this article comically believes they are undermining. What a hoot. Clearing the path for the current economic system to run amok again does NOT constitute opposing that expansion in any rational or tangible fashion. It's a joke. "They get that the stakes in this battle–a battle between, to speak broadly, essentially unrestrained technological growth on the one hand, and a fear for the trampling of essential limits, disciplines, and attachments which a fundamentally self-interested gospel of expansion teaches us to ignore on the other–are nothing less then our basic economic system itself."
