MC, you have obviously not noticed that USA federal government officials wander into the offices and homes of anyone they choose and arrest them and all corporate assets are subject to confiscation almost at whim. No companies have even the slightest power in the face of the governments of the states or the federation.

The hint of an "antitrust" attack and the mighty like Microsoft are doomed. When a well sprang a leak in the Gulf of Mexico, the president's sidekick casually talked of having a boot on the neck of BP. You might not be sensitive to language like that, but when I hear of governments having their boots on the necks of companies, they really mean people because companies are just people and it makes me scared. They don't say that because they are scared of the companies. Tony Hayward of BP was told to put up $20 billion for the government and their buddies to enjoy. Woohooo.... now that's profit!! It wasn't BP with the power.

You might moan about corporate power but they have none. You think you want more government power. I hope it's you who experiences the consquences of your wish, not me. Germans voted in the National Socialists and things looked good while the strutting and unbridled power was unchallenged. In the end, government power is where the nightmares come from. Be careful what you wish for, you are likely to get it, good and hard.
