I've had two of them. Both .223. Older models with skinny barrels. Not very accurate past 50- 75 yards but lethal out to 300. They make one now if what amounts to a .270 short. It's a 6.8 mm that can take a 90 grain bullet close to 3,000 fps. The ammo is a bit pricier now since it is not yet popular but it may be a military round in the future.

I'd pass on the 30 only because I'd rather have the range and accuracy of the .223. And you have a .223 so you should save the brass and get a single stage reloader to make your own stuff. They also make a target model in 223 that can keep all shots in a quarter at 100 yards. It has a heavier barrel and a harmonic dampener like the old Browning BOSS system. Arno has one and it's next on my list.

The action is M1A/M14design and can be had in stainless. Indestructible.

And when you're alone and all you have is a few 30 round mags,,,,you feel like the National Guard is in your closet.
