Maybe we need a paradigm shift.

We used to get by on a huge discoveries, which propelled the discovery world forward ever 7 years or so. Peristaltically, as if on demand. Interestingly the animal cycle which governed the fortunes of the Hudson's Bay company, I believe Canada's oldest surviving trading company, was seven years too.

What are the major cycle peaks?

Timmins, Texas Gulf, Hemlo, Bre-X.

You could say there was a South American blow out in the 1990's. You could also say that in the late 2000's there was a wide low grade paradigm shift in Canadian gold. But we don't have the die hard bucket shop crowd supporting and cheerleading as in the past. The money is no longer easy to make. The sons of the bucket shop boys of the 50's, 60's and 70's are jaded and beaten down by successive crashes of tech markets, mining blow outs and metal price crashes and debt boondoggles.
