250 ounces were produced from 2500 cubic yards per day was the way I read it. Best grade was 10 ounces per cubic yard. These kind of grades were not extensive sans doot. Some 50 ounce nuggets were found. I think it was largely a mine to bedrock kind of operation.

Whilst their grade was declared to be 1/10 of an ounce per cy, they mined 459,000 ounces over 14 years, allowing a recovery of 89 ounces per day. On the other hand their final mining rate was declared to be 75,000 ounces per year, so maybe it was not always running at the same rate or grade. This rate would be 2,000 cy per day at 3 grams per cy or thereabouts. I have declarations of 2500 cy per day, and 1/10 of an ounce per cy, and also 75,000 ounces per year etc. It does not add up to their final production, which is 4.5 million cubic yardsat 3 grams per cy in 14 years. So the averages have to be figured in there somewhere.

Overburden was up to 27,500 cubic yards per day. Some calcs say 20,000 CY per day. Some say a bit less.

Grade overcomes evil.

There was some grade on the surface in some locations historically. As far as I can tell they drilled it to find the channel. Air Core I think.
