The preceeding two posts clarify a number of common misperceptions.

1. CE companies (including Zenith) are not experiencing a fall off in sales even though the transition to digital is quite near.

2. CE companies and not computer companies will be the driving force of digital TV.

3. Digital TVs will be affordable.

Agree with most of Kaufhold's projections, however, he omitted the huge market of TVs outside the living room. Certainly, consumers first will upgrade their living room TVs to digital. Also, there will be a huge market to digitally update the smaller TVs throughout most households. Thease will be $500 and below TVs requiring more basic chip sets and screens than the living room unit.

While the rest of the CE industry and the computer gang is fighting to get into the living room, Zenith would be smart to also focus on capturing the majority of the "bedroom/kitchen" digital market.
