I'm from the same planet and we agree on the "Lucent endorsement." Your factual "inventing networking" companies are correct and were implied in my comments about numerous companies having proprietary networks. However, my point is that Cisco invented networking "in essence" because the router "put 'em all together."
I am just a financial analyst covering technology and know ONLY ENOUGH TO MAKE ME DANGEROUS. Moreover, I don't even own Cisco, but in studying the company and industry I was very impressed. I expect to own it soon, but I bought Yurie first (and twice). However, if you picked up my "drift" in the math problem, I was strongly hinting at the fact that Cisco CAN NOT continue to grow so fast, and I am cautious about this perhaps overlooked (by Wall Street) point.
Are there any other companies you think I should study, and...
TELEPHONICS, I would love your input. Do you really consider Yurie revolutionary? Do y'all know Cienna?
BenYeung, check out "CIEN".
Is anyone selling Gigabit E.? Cisco expects to be out in the 1st half of 98. Since "G.E." is the next step up in Ethernet, is anything properiatry or anything else that would give a company an advantage in "G.E."? |
