Hi CGB, My first post (#427) on this wonderful thread of yours was probably a little strident for comfort and I hope you will accept my apologies for arrogating your role as thread chief. I highly value this thread (I've lurked here since the beginning) and find the recent intrusion of bible bashers deeply depressing. It would be a pity if its tolerance and devotion to secular humanism were displaced by the Ask God freaks. I come here for the intelligent and articulate "conversation" that the regular posters offer. What a fine bunch of people you have collected. Well, it is a beautiful, clear Saturday morning here in London and I'm off to do some work <sigh>. One of your earlier musings dealt with the nature of the options in life that we leave for another day and never manage to return to. My purpose in doing work this morning is to recreate old options so that I, one day soon, can return to California (I left 10 years ago). Boy how I miss itnow although I was very ready to leave when I did. The good part is that I will be in San Francisco on Tuesday, albeit only for a day, and then in British Columbia for 2 weeks. Now, THAT is paradise. No need to wait for pie-in-the-sky. Paul
