Cheryl,

NC's are not dumb terminals? I realize that the Java NC's will have the Java Virtual machine interpreter on board so they won't be dumb. Also my thinking of NC's also have some graphic computing capabilities but in some sense, my feeling was that NC's could also be interpreted as dumb terminals in the sense that they access servers on the network and provide an interface to those servers (with data residing on the server and processes running on those servers). Sort of a throwback to the mainframe centralized computing concept except that you can access as many and any flavor of server (UNIX, NT, Mainframe, etc.). Is an X Terminal a NC? Until JAVA becomes prevalent, I would think that "dumb" terminals would be most needed.

Am I missing something? Please explain :-)

Thanx
Dave Hsu
