1. Policywise, and perhaps even in core beliefs, George W. Bush and Barack Obama are for practical purposes, nearly the same.

Different style, so far pretty much same substance.Obama is more willing to cut assistance for the poor. That was a surprise.

2. There would have been no differences if we elected a Bush protege,

'09-10 would have been gridlock. That's bad. I think we would then have added to margins in both houses. More gridlock. Prolly no boots in Libya due to gridlock, but prolly more bombing. Unemployment would have been even higher.People in the streets sooner; maybe OWS in 'the summer of '09 instead of Wisconsin Winter '11.

3. There will be no differences in US foreign policy and overall well being if Obama loses in 2012

It'll get worse faster than with Obama.
Friends think we are gonna change politicians every 2 years for a while cuz nobody can fix it. I'm beginning to think they are right.
